Episode 5

Luke 2:41-43

Every year the parents of Jesus used to go to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up for the feast as usual. When they were on their way home after the feast, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem without his parents knowing it.

Instead of condemning John, Nicodemus says "tell me about your ministry."  When was the last time you sat down with someone you didn't agree with and say "tell me more."?

Jesus tells Thomas that while it is good to ask questions, we won't always understand the answers; or get answers.  How do you handle that?

Just as the servants had to draw water before seeing the miracle, what are ways you can be assured in faith because of God's promises?

Cultural Tidbit

A chuppah, also huppah, chipe, chupah, or chuppa, is a canopy under which a Jewish couple stand during their wedding ceremony. It consists of a cloth or sheet, sometimes a tallit, stretched or supported over four poles, or sometimes manually held up by attendants to the ceremony. A chuppah symbolizes the home that the couple will build together.

Thomas: "From your instructions you have provided, I see no logical solution to the problem."

Jesus: "It's going to be like that sometimes, Thomas"

Thomas: "What did you say?"
